I Tried to Fight Breast Cancer

It's so hard to not get too pissed off while at an event that's supposed to be for the better. This was my first year to partake in the Susan G. Komen's Race for the Cure downtown and, of course, the year I partcipate, it's cold, wet and annoying. To wear the girls out, we took Nigra and Fauna with. They did very well, Nigra barking at the late runners who missed the very beginning of the 5k race because about 42,000 people participate and you can't get past them.

It started to sprinkle, and then rain (luckily it wasn't a down pour) and we finally found a couple of people we were supposed to meet up with. And then, we had to wait for more. Apparently, all the years Steph has done this, waiting for people was never an issue...

But of course, since I attended, we had to wait. And wait. And get wet. And at this point, my blood is boiling and I want to scream, "I am trying to do my part in finding a cure for breast cancer and this damn rain is ticking me off and we have to wait for an annoying family who couldn't leave on time and I just want to walk, dammit!"

Doing my part to save the world has never felt so good.

Congratulations to you, Stephanie and the puptuals for completing this race! I totally understand getting a little agitated in dealing with latecomers and bad weather, but not the worst thing ever. I can't wait to hear about your first beautiful, what the hell am I doing indoors spring day. It IS coming, that I promise you.
