Happy Anniversary, Part II

The drive to Michigan City Saturday morning was rainy, but we were fine with that because it gave us a chance to visit the Lighthouse Premium Outlet mall. We walked around the outside complex in the drizzle, but first we had to change...in the VW Bug. We both were wearing bathing suits, hoping the weather would clear up, but instead of walking around in our beach-clad outfits, I personally wanted underwear on. I just don't feel right walking around in public without it. So, as people kept walking by our car, which is like a fishbowl with all the large windows, we finally changed our pants and shirts under the stained quilt we use for outside sitting purposes.

We walked around for about four hours. We couldn't check into the hotel until 3 p.m. and when we got back to the car to eat the lunch we packed we sat that it was only 1 p.m. Something was terribly wrong, and then we realized Michagn City, much like Chicago, it's neighbor, didn't do the time change. We were an hour ahead. So, we drove around Lake Shore Drive to see all the houses that live on the lake -- and daydreamed about "how that will be me someday..."

The Weather Channel couldn't make up it's mind this weekend. Partly cloudy meant mostly cloudy. It was supposed to be clear on Sunday and Monday, but when we woke up on Sunday it was still overcast. So, we went dune hopping, sat on the beach for a few hours and read -- when the breeze picked up off the lake and made everyone layer their clothes because it got so damp and chilly (as well as bring in a fog). I finished Dean Koontz's "Velocity" and I got to start "Body Surfing" by Anita Shreve. Luckily the sunset was nice that evening and we were able to walk the catwalk up to the lighthouse.

Monday, luckily, the sun came out. And so we got to the beach about 9:30 a.m. and sat and sat and played and read and sat and at about 4:30 p.m. we decided to leave. We amassed horrible sunburns, which we're suffering from now. I'm about to lay in a lukewarm tub, and Steph just lathered aloe all over.

We didn't get to see the sun all weekend and so we overdosed. Now we have sun hangovers.

Uncle Phatato,

Think it's portuguese, but I don't want to sound rude against Rodrigues, but the same message has been sent to various people's blogs and always in Portuguese, hope it's not a blog virus.

I linked up to Rodrigo's link, seems like he's doing personalized t-shirts. Doesn't say anything bad, just that your blog is interesting and if you have the time, drop by his blog.
I dropped by earlier before I posted comments and it did look like he was selling t-shirts. Thanks for the research!

This isn't so bad, I occaisionally comment on non-English blogs with something like, "Hi, I have no idea WTF you are talking about, but your profile pic is hot!" Results so far? I'm wanted in Russia for stalking. ;)
Looks like you had a good weekend :) btw, is "Velocity" good?
