American Eye-dol
I never watched it before because it was just so damn popular, I couldn't take it. Anything cooler than me was just too much. I sat and watched up until the horrid singers stopped -- and when they started taking the singing seriously, I stopped taking it seriously.
My hate for it probably goes much deeper. Students told me I looked like Clay Aiken. Sorry to say, I am not a frail, creepy looking red-head with Pippi Longstocking freckles. Middle school students are taking drugs much earlier these days.
Over the non-connection between Clay and myself, the one season I actually get into it, the ratings are down, and there's a 17-year-old pimpin' the stage with his girl-curls and under-developed vocals, making girls in the audience cry so hard. As this happens, Americans vote on his no-talent just because the likes of Howard Stern said to. But he and Sanjaya have that curly hair in common. Is there really a connection?
Although I'm beginning to miss episodes of American Idol because of track season, I continue to surf the web to see what others are saying, and although most of it is horribly mean, I laugh (I'm the one that laughs as people hurt themselves on "America's Funniest Home Videos" regardless of how mean it seems). As we watch Ryan Seacrest and his large mouth over-pronounce his every word, my eyes have seen the glory of the coming of the brows!
These two contestants's eyebrows are like four catepillars floating across the screen.
